Daniel Risch was appointed to the Board of Trustees of Switzerland for UNHCR in 2026. He works as an advisor and sparring partner for executives, teams, and organizations on leadership, digital transformation, and international politics. From 2017 to 2025, he served as a member of the Government of the Principality of Liechtenstein – first as Deputy Head of Government with responsibility for the Ministry of Infrastructure, Economy and Sport, and from 2021 to 2025 as Head of Government and Minister of the Ministry of General Government Affairs and Finance.
Risch studied economics in St. Gallen, Zurich, and Munich and earned a PhD from the University of Fribourg on the topic “Using customer profiles in e-commerce.” After a research stay at the University of Melbourne in 2007, he spent seven years in a senior leadership role at one of Switzerland’s major e-business agencies and also held a mandate with Liechtenstein Post in the field of eProcurement.
