Dear journalists
The Global Refugee Forum (GRF) is the is biggest international gathering on refugees. It is an opportunity for world leaders and decision-makers, civil society organizations, international institutions, and refugees to come together to find solutions for people forced to flee and their host communities. It is held every four years.
In collaboration with UNHCR, the JR Inside Our project is in Geneva for the GRF.
Refugees attending the event will have the opportunity to have their portrait taken in an Inside Out Photobooth truck and those pictures will be pasted on the Mur de la Treille, Geneva’s historical walls, which have provided protection and safety for people forced to flee from persecution for many centuries.
Members of the community can join in and show their solidarity with refugees by having their portrait taken and added to the wall; proving that compassion and humanity are stronger than fear and suspicion towards refugees.
Each and every one of us has the power to make a difference and give hope to those forced to flee all over the world. Your voice and action are needed more than ever.
Launched by French artist JR in 2011, the Inside Out Project is a platform that helps communities around the world stand up for what they believe in and spark global change locally through works of public art. Over the past decade, more than 500,000 people spanning 152 countries and territories have participated in the Inside Out Project, sparking collaborations and conversations worldwide.
