Refugee Paralympic Team: “A message of hope”

The Paralympic Games start today on August 28 in Paris. And just like at the Olympic Games, a team of refugees is represented here. It consists of eight athletes and two guide runners from six different countries.

91% of all 18,879 employees of UNHCR are fieldworkers on the frontline to help those forced to flee conflicts and persecution. Beyond emergency relief, UNHCR makes sure to find sustainable solutions for refugees for a better future.
